We are excited to announce this year's AKRI International Group Relations Conference in New Orleans. The international conference is a powerful experiential event that offers unique insights into group dynamics, the systems we find ourselves in and the roles we play.  CPSP members have been regular participants in this conference in recent years.

This year we focus on an important theme that impacts all of us  - Leadership, Authority and Otherness.

Eliat Aram, CEO of the Tavistock Institute in London will again direct the event and be joined by an experienced staff of 11.

Honoring the important work of CPSP and the long relationship with the A K Rice Institute we are offering an initial institutional discount to CPSP members. Each individual applicant, who is also a member of CPSP in good standing, can deduct $1,250 from the Early Registration fee. Further discounts can be applied for additional members from the CPSP group who register at the same time. Contact Krista Argiropolis ( to indicate your interest by March 15, 2017 and type "AKRI GRC Registration" in the subject line of your email.

There are also limited scholarships that can be further applied on a case by case basis.

Please visit the conference website for details

Feel free to contact Jack Lampl, Associate Director, with any additional questions.

    The POWER

    Authorization and
    in the
    Helping Professions

    Sacramento, California
    11-13 August 2017

This will be an intensive, residential conference intended to expand your awareness and deepen your capacity to provide care.
The conference is experiential in nature. This simply means that people learn from their experience by being in groups of various sizes and compositions and it requires participants’ active participation.

Over three days we will create a temporary learning organization offering an opportunity to notice how we function in groups and the institutions in which we work—without the pressures and politics of the actual workplace. In this unique environment, insights can be developed that help increase our influence and effectiveness.

The Power of Presence is co-sponsored by the Nautilus Pacific Chapter of the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP) and Grex, the West Coast affiliate of the A. K. Rice Institute for the Study of Social Systems.
The conference is especially suited for people in the helping professions in general and CPSP members in particular.
